Your first visit to Chameli Spa: what to expect

Your first massage shouldn't feel like a test. At Chameli Spa you book by WhatsApp, arrive ten minutes early at the 2nd floor near Falcon Towers, change into shorts in a private room, agree pressure with your therapist, and shower afterwards. Here's each step, plus etiquette and aftercare.

Booking

WhatsApp +971 56 793 8432 with the massage and time. If you don't know which massage, say it's your first visit; reception usually suggests Swedish. Mention allergies (nuts, coconut, fragrance) now.

Arriving

Come ten minutes early. Reception confirms your treatment and shows you to a private room. Leave valuables in your car or keep them with you in the room.

What to wear (and what to take off)

For oil massages you change into disposable shorts provided; you're covered with a towel throughout, with only the area being worked uncovered. For Thai massage, you change into loose clothes instead.

Talking about pressure

Your therapist will ask. Use a scale: one is barely there, ten is too much; most people like five to seven. You can change your mind at any time. Speaking up isn't rude; it's how you get a good massage.

Etiquette in a nutshell

  • Silence is fine. So is chatting. Follow your mood.
  • Shower beforehand if you're coming from the gym or work.
  • Phones on silent.
  • The massage is exactly what's on our menu, nothing else.

Afterwards

Take a minute before standing up. Shower if you like, dress, pay at reception. Drink some water and avoid hard training on the same day after firm work.

Questions before you book

Do I need to undress completely?

No. Disposable shorts are provided and you're covered with towels throughout.

Is it okay to ask for lighter pressure?

Always. Your therapist expects it.
